Hello everyone
I am new to the posting aspect of this forum though been reading for a while. Planning LEJOG this year so will appreciate some advice. Will post in gear section first.

Welcome to the forum from Cumbria, and good luck with lejog.

I've stayed in the Seaview Hotel JOG before - it's OK.

Thanks for the Seaview Hotel recommendation/reassurance. We will stay in JOG at the end though I'm aware many leave ASAP.

John o Groats is hardly the most scenic place in Scotland - a bleak car park surrounded by gift shops. Why not finish your walk at nearby Duncansby Head - a much more fitting climax?

Well, when I say we’ll stay there it’ll just be overnight. And we will walk via Duncansby Head too. I don’t want to have to rush the last day to catch a bus as I think that could spoil things. And LEJOG has to finish at JOG doesn’t it??  :)
