LDWA 54-miler, Dorset
« on: 19:43:19, 14/04/19 »
I was out on a training walk in South Dorset yesterday when I came across a dozen or so folks walking along the Ridgeway above Abbotsbury. They were travelling too quickly for members of the Ramblers - it took me a good while to catch up with them. Sure enough they were members of the South Wales LDWA doing a 54-mile circular from Weymouth. That put my modest 18-miler in perspective, although some of them expressed interest when I told them I was training for LEJOG and due to start next month.
If you were one of those hardy hikers, did you all make it? You all looked very fit having already done, like me, around 10 miles at that stage - you guys, though, still had 44 to go! Crazy! I was back at the car for 3.30pm, whereas you must have been walking until well after midnight. That's serious hiking addiction! Where did your route take you, in the end?
It's simple - one foot in front of the other.
