Stroll on Winter Hill
« on: 20:25:57, 26/05/13 »
A lovely sunny afternoon’s stroll on Winter Hill. Started from Wilderswood on George Lane and walked up onto the Winter Hill road, then followed the road up to the telecommunications masts. From there we took the old mine track across the moor to Two Lads Hill, down to the Winter Hill road at Hole Bottoms then on to Holdens Plantation before returning to the car.

Lots of people up on Rivington Pike today. Lower down in the picture there are two small groups of people walking the path from Winter Hill to the Pike.

The mountain bikers were out today enjoying the sunshine. Here two of them are riding up the path onto Two Lads Hill.

Brett and Molly waiting patiently for me near the steps at the top of Holdens Plantation. Sam is already down in the stream having a drink. Well it’s thirsty work chasing sticks. 8)

The forlorn remains of Eight Acres farm close by Holdens Plantation.
