Hello everyone.
« on: 13:29:03, 14/08/08 »
Hi all........just getting back into walking after quite a long break. A few years ago a mate and myself would make a bi-weekly trip to the Lakes or North Wales for our fix of fells and mountains. Starting a business and one or two other things happening sadly put a stop to our fun. I have done the odd walk every 12 months or so but not really had the time to do anything more regularly. I'm now (hopefully) in a position to get back onto the fells more often  ;D

Had my first walk for a while last Saturday......a very early start to avoid the forecasted bad weather (4.30 start from Kendal........parked up at Cow Bridge at 5.15) Up Dovedale onto Dove Crag, very misty and damp on the summit, headed north onto Hart Crag and the back down to Brothers Water via Hartsop Above How. Back home for mid morning. Very enjoyable even if the weather was crap.

Planning another trip over the bank holiday weekend.  O0

Welcome Navitimer,

I was in the same situation as yourself, stopped walking for many many years before being re-bitten by the bug.

Interesting name, any reason?

The name?

I have a bit of a collection of vintage watches and my favourite one is my Breitling Navitimer 806 from 1964.

To be honest it's the first thing that entered my head when I registered  :-\

Not a walking question, but I hope you can help as a watch afficianado,

I am saving up for a Bell and Ross BR01 Phantom, worth it? Will it hold value?

Thanks for your help!

Hi Chubby...........nice watch but a bit too modern for me.

Probably will hold it's value as a future 'classic'

Thanks for the welcome everyone.  O0
