Amazing what you come across on your walks, Watershed!

How close were you allowed to get?

Thanks once again.

thanks guys.
That was about 4 meters away.
I heard them whistling and crawled up to the very small banks above them. The wind was strong from their direction so they couldn't smell me or see me.
Their eyesight isn't the best, so they usually smell or hear you first, unless they see you against the skyline.
I crawled back, after a quick couple of photos and they were none the wiser.

Have any of you been watching "Storm Born" on BBC 1, It includes a lot of footage from Shetland including Otters and Orcas, well worth a look.

I came across a young stag this morning on my walk...such a privilege .

Just 1.5 mile from our front door , in an area called Cofton Common .

The first time I have seen wild deer so close to home .

This young fella more than made up for such dull weather at start of the day . :)

Thanks... it made my day...he was trying to get around me to safety , but hedging was blocking him in . He finally made it , then headed up toward trees at the top of a hill . Just raising my small camera up was enough to spook him.

Looks like a Roe to me .
