Last time I drove on the A1 regularly I was shocked at the number of Muntjac bodies along the roadside. Since it is mainly lorries that get them then I see no reason to believe the number of casualties has decreased since March.
A few years ago when walking the Viking Way I frequently saw loads of them in the fields.
They have truly thrived over the years since escaping into the wild.
I do wonder if they are having an effect on our native deer. We saw what happened to Red squirrels when they got infected with a harmless to the invasive Grey squirrel disease.
