Another vote for Rohan. I have 3 pairs 2 of which are very waterproof although warm. You could wear any of them as everyday trousers given the fit Overpriced at rrp but if you go onto their website they invariably have them at more realistic prices

Mountain Warehouse Explore walking trousers are definitely tapered...

I also own trousers by Rab, Craghoppers, Dare2B and Rohan, but my three pairs of MW trousers (£29.99) are my favourites in okay or better weather.  O0

Phew, I'm glad we've got that sorted!  ;)

Another vote for Craghopper Kiwis here they're great, and really quite water repellent. I also bought some Odlo ones lately that are windproof and water repellent and they taper, but are zipped at the sides. Comfortable to wear.

I did think of starting a thread for 'waterproofs that DO look like 70's flairs' ......but I suppose I would get a stream of replies saying 'all the rest'   O0

I like Brashers, they seem to be fairly non 70s 😂. Plenty of pockets and fairly showerproof too

Noticed a number of students have started wearing flares, maybe these are coming back!

I bought a £70 pair of Marmot hiking trousers for a while, they are well made and fit well too. They are also narrow(ish) at the ankle, with a 4" zip at the end. I also have a £12.99 pair from Decathlon, even better!
