Catstye Cam
« on: 09:52:45, 19/09/21 »
Took a mooch up to Helvellyn last Friday.
Little detour up to Catstyecam too, picture from the summit.
Well worth the small detour after Swirral Edge, quite suprised how many gave it a miss, superb views to be had.

Tried to post a few more photos of Striding Edge, but it’s a nightmare on the mobile and gave up for now.
Might have another go later on my laptop.

I love Catstycam - I love Swirral Edge as an ascent, and will stop for a break and a breakfast on Catstycam on the way.  Wonderful views, small summit, and, thanks to people giving it a miss, generally quiet.

I did the clockwise route, and stopped for dinner at the bottom of Swirral Edge.
Nice, but next time I’ll save it and head up Catstye Cam for the views  :)

Nice - yes, Catstycam is too good to miss, very much part of the classic Striding/Swirral Edge round as far as I am concerned, and a great viewpoint. We dropped down to Red Tarn for our lunch when we were up there earlier this year.

Looking forward to your other photos. :)

Catstye Cam or Catstycam? Or even "Catchedicam"?  :o

I've always used Catstycam myself.

If Wikipedia is the font of knowledge that it’s perceived to be, then it’s “Catstye Cam” (OS use this too apparently)

Wainwright used Catstycam.

I do know that it’s a bloody great view from the top of it  :)

And me as well - why do so many people miss it?
