Morning - Do a fair bit of walking locally at the moment but have completed Thames Towpath, Seven Shires Way (around Oxfordshire) started Shakespeares way and paln to do length of K & A Canal when covid restrictions lifted.  Am a fan of Viewranger and not liking the new outdoor active very much and hope this forum may be able to clarify some of the issues i have

Hi and welcome to the forum.
I am a fan of bits of paper with squiggly lines printed on them but there are those of a less Luddite persuasion here who will probably be able to help or at least commiserate.

I also love my collection of paper maps  :)  Just not the same on a screen.

But I also use VR and I am slightly perturbed at the switch to OA. There is another thread on the forum about this, see link below, Oxford Al. Welcome by the way

Welcome from another Oxfordshire resident.I was in the middle of doing the Thames Path when covid hit. I've completed Oxford to Marlow and a have done a few other downstream sections in the past which I'll probably re-do. I'm hoping to walk and camp Oxford to the source when restritions allow.
I've also been looking at the Kennet & Avon Canal. It seems to have good transport links as a railway follows the route although I quite like the idea of through hiking it with a tent.

Welcome from Devon.
Another lover of squiggly lines both on paper and screen.

Just got used to VR with OS maps. Thinking of changing to OS instead of renewing with VR/OA
So many paths yet to walk, so little time left
