Just back from first post pleurisy walk, a very gentle stroll from Tarn Hows car park to Black Crags and back, in the rain.  Magic to be out after many relapses.

So pleased you are well enough to get out again pdstsp  O0

We managed a 2.5 mile walk in the rain earlier, exploring Wythop Woods. We couldn't be bothered to do a longer walk. On the drive back home we spotted a train and carriages at the old Bassenthwaite Station at Dubwath.

A google at home and I found out why it was there

Aaah of course I'd forgotten the Lancashire badlands are tier 3 - that sounds a cracking way to spend a Saturday!!

Thanks April and G&P - great to be outdoors again.  I even forgave the weather gods.

Not seen the plans for Bassenthwaite station - looks interesting. O0

Lucky escape today.  We were walking down from Sharp tor near Minions, when Mrs G slipped on the wet granite and banged her left knee and more crucially her head.  Happily after sitting behind a wall for several minutes, feeling quite nauseous at first, we worked through the concussion check list.  She felt well enough to walk down to the car, just a mile or so away.

I took her to Liskeard Hospital.  An ice back on the bump and a bandage on her knee and happily walking wounded, back out to me sat in the car outside.  So glad for the local hospital. Well done again NHS. O0

It does make you realise , we are often just a step away from injury , especially surrounded by rock..but glad it all worked out . ! O0

It is low lying bramble branches that catch me out...stand on one end and the other leading to the root creates the perfect trap .

Thanks.  O0  There are chunks of Bodmin moor that are really hard work, due to the brambles.  As you say even the low down stuff appears to have the strength of steel cable and the brutality of barbed wire.  I tend to only pass through such areas once. Tussocks and peat bog are much less work. ;)

Walked that route a couple of times, first time when Tall Ships were in Blyth, parked in Seaton Sluice and walked along lovely sandy beach to Blyth and back.

Good to hear you are out an about again pdstsp.
Bad luck Mrs Buzyg - so easily done - trust she is aok.

Abandoned a coastpath walk round Bold Head and Bolt Tail today not only extremely windy and wet but the path from Overbecks is currently closed due to a landslip. Not sure exactly where the landslip is or even if it's really impassable (the notice of closure was by the Nat. Trust and they tend to err on the side of caution) but with the weather so abominable and being in a group we didn't investigate.
So many paths yet to walk, so little time left

Thanks for the good wishes Jac and Mel - and glad to hear that Mrs BuzyG is ok too.

Is that a formal met office weather description Mel?
