C2C record attempt Damian Hall
« on: 17:14:06, 24/05/21 »

I know some of you are fed up with these, but for those who aren’t, Damian Hall’s obviously decided to have a go at a different LDW! Starts tomorrow.

I suspect he'll break my FKT for four middle aged accountants subsisting entirely on beer and pies , of 11 days.

And coincidentally we set off 2 years ago tomorrow. Edited to say that this last sentence is garbage, we actually finished two years ago yesterday.

He's absolutely flying, way ahead of the record - so far.

Seems to be going incredibly fast. His current speed will give him a finish time of around 30 hours.

Well, he made good time in the night, and is across the Vale of York, way ahead of time. Only the North York Moors to go.

I put my money on 37 hours.

The pub in Great Broughton does parmos - that might slow him down a bit.

Especially if he stops for a Scotch egg at the shop near the station. :)

Yes. Think tonyk got his maths wrong. His schedule is 39 hours and he’s never been more than about 2 hours ahead of schedule.

It was based on his average speed earlier on.He was averaging over 6mph which would have given a finish time of around 30 hours.I think Harland is correct when he predicts a finish time of 37 hours.

I hope that he can speed up on the flatter bits as my prediction may be too optimistic. :-\

He's been doing a lot of ups and downs, bound to have affected his speed. Looks like a really nice walk, along the crest of the escarpment.
Fairly flat over the top of the moors, though, and not that much more climbing to do before the finish.
