re sizing photos
« on: 20:02:13, 17/01/21 »
Hi All, trying to upload photos but they are too large; does anyone know how to re-size photos from imgbb? Seems to be happening when copying and pasting from Facebook as well. Any help valued. Thanks, Henry

try postimages.org instead

No sorry , but why not try https://postimages.org/
It will resize your images and offer links to put straight onto a forum such as this site .

I use the "direct link" option in the drop down list that shows up . It offers you many different sizes to choose from such as 1024 x 768 which look fine on 17inch monitors....or as small as 150 x 112 to post thumbnails , and there are many more .

I find it works a treat every time .  O0

Another  O0 for Postimages.

In the menu that is displayed when you click on 'Do not resize my image' I personally find that 320 x 240 gives a nice small one for inconsequential images while 640 x 480 shows a decent sized one for proudly displaying your efforts on the forum.

After you have selected your image, you copy the Direct Link on the second line down by clicking on the blue-and-white icon at the righthand end of that line. That automatically copies the link to your clipboard, and then you click on the 'Insert Link' button above the message you are composing on the forum, it's the one directly below the B for Bold, and paste the link. Job done!

It reads "insert image" when you hover the cursor over that window below the bold B ......I hope I don`t sound pedantic as you explained the rest extremely well fernman...and I had missed all that out .

I just use Paint, and re-size to 800 wide.

I use Paint Shop Pro v5.01 (bought in 1998) and resize images to 1200px wide.  :)
