Some lovely snow scenes.  Nothing of much worth the past few weeks but I just downloaded my Christmas walks from my old phone.  Here are a few I like.

Cute and hungry I suspect.  Sorry not getting my butties mate.

Mr Snowman lasted several days.  :)

My phone really doesn't do this justice. A view I have seen hundreds of times, but never quite like it was that day. I climbed to the top of fur tor and just sat there for around two hours taking it in.  A guy came past on skis and another two, who where completing the Dartmoor 600s. I hope they got back before the mist rose again and it went dark. I know I had fun finding my car after dark.  Only mist it by 20m or so and fortunately there was a wall to then work back on.  O0

Up Ronas Hill today.
Flat Calm and sunny until the top.
freezing fog came in and this silver Rainbow/Ice bow appeared.
I took a few photos but they didn't come out great, but hopefully this one gives you the idea.

Thanks Dodgylegs,
Ronas hill and its hinterland is fantastic.
Here is a friend James Manson walking along the Voe.
He walked with 2 screw drivers in his pockets so he could access the beaches when doing the coast, Mad and Bad, love it !!
He is one of the few people to have walked the coast of Shetland 1000 miles plus

This is James at the Ronas Cliffs they are about 600 feet,
If you ever think about visiting give me a PM I will take you there its Amazing.
The beach is accessible,
James carried over a rope for a hand rail, so we can get to to beach. It is over a KM long.

Fantastic stuff, watershed. Been at the top of those cliffs, some interesting parallel trenches on the slopes above, suggesting that they are slowly collapsing into the sea. Never did get down to the Lang Ayre beach though, looks like a tricky descent.

So the Ronas Ciffs are more solid mud than rock for climbing down?
Looks a bit hairy, then again you are brave islanders!
Seems like a magical place, one day you never know, thanks for the offer watershed!
Keep those fantastic photos coming!  O0

The Cliffs are red granite.
The route  down is to follow the burn then use the rope James put there a few years ago as a hand rail.
You are right about the top, the cliffs are slowly peeling away.
When the tide is out you can walk the length of the beach and you will see and hear a constant trickle of dust and grit coming off the cliff like little pink streams.

That
..... constant trickle of dust and grit coming off the cliff like little pink streams.
is both exciting and nerve wracking.
I love that sense of the landscape still being active when exploring the undercliffs around Lyme Regis
So many paths yet to walk, so little time left

Nipped up to Linacre Reservoir today as it is probably the last blue-sky day for the next few - Took my 'winter camera' with me - a 60 quid old Canon G1X which I've started using on days when I don't want to lug a big DSLR or when the weather's sufficiently bad that there's little chance of getting a decent photo.
