Thanks Trenchfoot, that one was on my list  O0

Cheers Jim, looks like a nice easy hill. Might be a good un for a night walk to watch the fireworks if there are any  ;D
the only fire you will see in ambleside is the burning of the local witches lol , they still live in the 17th century there , you dont want to no what they do with the sheep , sleep tight make sure your bedroom door is locked , remember the wicker man  :o

Another one for Loughrigg Fell.  The day of the Queen's silver jubilee 1977.  That night we watched them light a beacon there from the Rugby Club and then watched the fireworks display.  Absolutely lashed it down in the evening but the day was pretty good.

Well for me, Orrest Head would have been my first fell - it was AW's too I believe.  I walked from there to Ambleside via Wansfell Pike, so that would be my first Wainwright.

Catbells, if that counts as a Fell, only blumming hill I could get my wife to climb up on a lovely sunny weekend trip ::) . But the views from the top, looking down onto Derwent Water, Keswick and beyond were just fantastic for a little hill, ooops, sorry Fell ;)
