Scafell Pike from Wasdale via Esk Hause
« on: 20:06:52, 02/03/11 »
This morning, encouraged by trip reports on here and the weather forecast I drove to Wasdale Head.

There was only one other car there at 9am this morning!

I steadily climbed up, stopping to have my lunch at 9 30am with two cups of tea.

It was interesting climbing up through the mist to Sprinkling Tarn.  This view of Great Gable set the tone for this unique experience of cloud inversion which is a first for me.

I wandered on to Esk Hause to be greeted by this view:

It looked like it does when you look out of a plane window and so soft like you could lie on it and dream....

This is another view looking towards the coast:

I was so oh!

I'm really struggling here with the writing of this... it was just so fab cos I've never been in/ seen a cloud inversion for myself before... and so  ... here's another one...

And here's another on the way to the top!

The top!

On the way down, I didn't expect there to be more, but there was...

And, I don't know why, but this mistless one of Lingmell seems like one to finish off with..

I'm sorry if there seems like a lot of photos... it has just been so marvellous.  Thank you for reading.  :)

Absolutely brilliant Dibble! Looks like you had some breathtaking views  :)

...though I'm not sure I approve of - "stopping to have my lunch at 9 30am"  :o
