Name of fell: Pillar
Location: Western Fells, from Wasdale head.
Height: 2927 feet.
Length of walk: It was 4 and a 1/2 miles there via Black Sail Pass
When I got out of the car at Wasdale I took a look around and decided that today's climb would be Pillar.
Isn't that a glorious blue sky?
When I am out and about, I love it when I can see Scafell. It feels like such a treat!
My walk continued on to Black Sail Pass. The views from this walk were just dramatic from every turn:
The scree run is the climb up from Wasdale valley to Dore head near Yewbarrow.
It does look do-able if a little steep!
Now the fun begins in earnest, I love the high airy walk to the top of Pillar!
Looking back from where I had come...
And, here is that view of Scafell, Mickledore and Scafell Pike again:
Can you see the figure just completing the climber's traverse/ high level route?
Unfortunately the photo that was taken of me on the top doesn't seem to have come out, so instead of me, here is the view towards Scoat Fell, I think it is..
Totally magnificent!
Lexi enjoying the snow and the sun...
And I've noticed this gentle stream where Lexi enjoyed a drink;
And to finish off with a look back at my two favourite photos of the day:
Because they remind me of what it felt like to be up there.
