if you havent had alook at this site, do so now. its awasome. type in a place name and zoom in on the map to the spot you want and it will give you arial/satalite shots and awsome photographs people have posted of that area...
try it with your street to start off then pinpoint some of the finer places you like to walk.

There appears to be a link between this and Google Earth now.    When you zoom in you can see blue dots which when clicked show a photograph of the place.

I used Panoramio on my last walk, to trace its length and see if there were interesting features that I might miss otherwise .. wasn't bad, some earthworks looked better from above (as they would I suppose)  ::)

 i dit this sort of thing on another site and got an ariel veiw of my house,i meen about 100ft above it.
