It’s on the way into Canyonlands National Park in Utah. My wife took it.

Fantastic place.

Both of these may be a bit overprocessed for some. This was Llandudno today. Another by my wife.

Yes, perhaps a bit over processed for me because that makes them slightly less natural but still great pics.

Would be interesting to compare to the original, unprocessed photos.

This is the Chrome Hill one. Bit lacking in impact, I think. Probably a less aggressive filter might work, but I quite like the surreal effect I got.

The unprocessed one is much nicer imo :). Of course the processed one is also nice, but more as an art project because it looks like a surreal fairy tale or a computer game. But everybody knows the real world doesn't look like that so as a walking picture it is less powerful imo. :)

It’s a good point ie a photo should reflect what the world looks like.

Many processing apps turn photos into more of an impressionistic and stylised version of the world.

Photos don’t reflect what the world looks like, unless they are properly processed. Because of the image processing performed by our brains, what we perceive is not the same as what we see. Also, the selection of focal length, shutter speed, aperture, white balance, focal plane and exposure can easily produce a picture that we could not see naturally. Photography is an art form and should show what the photographer intends.

Another good point!

I’m fond of a panorama shot, and they definitely don’t show the world as it appears.
