It is The Loe, looking towards Loe Bar.  Near Helston, Cornwall.  Behind me is RNAS Culdrose, but no flights today.
Daphne du Maurier wrote The Birds based here after seeing a flock of seagulls.

I remember walking near RAF Culdrose a few years ago on the coast path. I was desperate for a pit stop and there wasn't much cover. Finally found a spot and thought I was OK till an helicopter flew low over me coming in to land. Hope he enjoyed the view.

I am told, by someone that used to work there, that they are not allowed to post the pictures they take up in the mess.

Aah - didn't recognise it - I walked past it on the seaward side when me and Mrs pdstsp did a section of the Cornish Coast Path in 1990.  Beautiful part of the world.  Seem to remember we spent the previous night in a boozer in Porthleven and walked most of the morning with a headache.

I've been sorting through some photo files to keep myself sane, and came across this one which reminds me of a happy happy day - walked from Rosthwaite in mist but just knew the sun was shining;

If they did post it I hope they enjoyed the view. At that point I was in no condition to worry about others seeing.

Two from today's 'local walk' - a short walk from home gets me into the countryside, albeit on tarmac the whole way.  First up is the view north over the town to Queensberry (697 metres), then south towards Criffel (569 metres)

Nice shot, Brandywell - we've walked our dog through there on a number of occasions. The woods to the west are lovely too.
