Bank holiday means most people do their travelling on Friday and Monday, so Sunday looks good for a trip into Snowdonia. Weather looks promising too!

Heading to the Lakes tomorrow for a couple of days, hopefully weather stays dry(ish). Staying at Patterdale but going to do a couple of walks in the North Fells as well as one from Patterdale. Could have stayed at Keswick YHA for £7 a night but thought it would be quieter at Patterdale and I prefer Patterdale.  O0

A good 10 miles round the tops of Lamachan Hill south of Glen Trool in Galloway this weekend; only 2 Donald Deweys left to do now.

Mini walk with the rug rats around Padley Gorge.  With minimal carrying of the mini rat.  Picnic at the top, and ice cream at Grindleford station.... :)

Bank Holiday monday and I hardly saw a soul in the Lakes north of Keswick where I walked ( starting with Great Cockup).....my plan to avoid the crowds worked  O0

Tomorrow, (bag 3 Wainwrights) from Patterdale YHA, including Angletarn Pikes and a walk back along the Lake

18 mile circuit of fells around the Newlands valley area.
As I'll be one of 400 people plus marshals - you may want to avoid Braithwaite & these environs. Apologies to anyone intending going there. Our excuse is that we had no chance of running the London Marathon but thought 10 peaks sounded infinitely more interesting anyhow. We have raised about £65,000 for MacMillan Nurses so hope the good intentions make up for blocking the fells.
Four of us did a mini circuit of the route a couple of weeks ago and that was just over 15 miles. Hoping for better weather this time out as it was pretty typical Lakes clag then.
Only a hill but all of life to me, up there between the sunset and the sea.

Off to Grasmere on Sunday with the Ramblers so with all of that lovely scenery to take in and wonderful mountains to climb...I wonder which seven muddy fields we'll end up traversing  :D  Come to think of it, why am I going with them  :o
