Looking for Gear advice
« on: 23:10:14, 05/12/14 »
I am looking to upgrade my walking gear so I can go to places such as Lake District, Scottish Highlands and Snowdonia when it's lovely and cold. I will be doing photography so will be carrying a heavy load. I require gear advice, as I think I run hot. I'm looking for advice on winter/cold gear that will last me years. Buy it now I wont have to buy again for a while. I've had a setup where I wear a syntethic berghaus base layer, berghaus microfleece then berghaus midweight or heavyweight fleece and craghoppers pants. This has kept me warm on frosty mornings, but there was no precip or wind.  want to be insulated, but also kept nice and dry and have protection from the wind.

I need advice with
Base Layer (top and bottom)Must have thumbholes
Midlayers (fleece)
Outerlayers (downjacket / coat)

I am interested in the Rab Latok alpine as a solution to the rain as it's very light.

Thanks for help.
