Coastal path under threat
« on: 17:11:34, 06/07/15 »
Hello
I was horrified to see on BBC TV's "Countryfile" programme last night that plans are afoot to reopen Dean Quarry on The Lizard coastal path.  I have walked this path for years, when the quarry was still operating and since it closed some years ago. Nature is beginning to take it over. But if the new plans are approved, it will re-open even bigger than ever with disastrous consequences to part of the coastal path in my opinion.
If you have walked this path you will understand what I mean - if not have a look at a video I made of the walk last year which includes shots of the quarry as it was a few years back.
Local people are campaigning against the new plan - it would be a good idea to join them!

You can see my video my going to YouTube and searching for David Skentelbery's Channel and clicking on the film "Lizard Love Story"
