That Hanwag boot looks very similar to my Lowa Renegades. I wonder if there is any connection between the two companies.


All I know about them is the following piece of trivia.
Two brothers, Hans and Lothair Wagner were born into a Bavarian boot making family. They entered the family business, learnt their trade, rose up through the ranks and went on to successfully manage the business until they had a falling out and went their separate ways.


Hans Wagner set up his own company called Hanwag.
Lothair Wagner set up his own company called LOWA.

Visited Milletts today and bought :-

Two pairs of Peter Storm trousers for £10 each. Quite thin but if they're windproof they will suit me fine. If not, they seem ok to use daily.

Two OS Explorer Maps (Dark Peak and White Peak) at £5.40 each which is way cheaper than the normal £8.99 I see everywhere else. They include a digital download but looking at the reviews on Google Play of the OS software, I think I'll not bother with that option!

This Milletts was in Bakewell but I think these offers are available at all Milletts and Blacks shops - both of which I believe are owned by JD.

Bhod, I think I'll wait until I've sorted what phone software I'll be using (ViewRanger looks favourite at the moment) when I get set up. If they're still available - they're yours! Are you on Iphone or Android?

Just noticed that I can watch the latest HD version of the latest Star Wars film on the internet for free. Now that's what I call a bargain, all 2hrs and 13mins of it and the sound via my sound bar. I've a couple of G & T cans in, plus nibbles and that's my evening sorted!
