Fan y Big
« on: 23:20:32, 25/09/16 »
Yesterday we went for a very blustery hike in the central Beacons, starting at the Blaen-y-Glyn Uchaf car park and taking in Bwlch y Ddwyallt and Fan y Big. Too windy to stand on the diving board, I did crawl on to it  ;D Full report here http://claire-walking-blog.blogspot.co.uk/2016/09/september-2016-fan-y-big-via-torpantau.html?m=1

Such a stunning landscape! I've only walked around there once so far as it's just that bit too far to travel for a day walk from where we live but I loved it, even though the weather was poor. I really must get back soon.

You got some wonderful photos, Claire, on the blog and on the Flickr page.  O0

That's a walk I've done quite a few times with the dogs. Great walk.

It is. I assume the dogs are good at not chasing things over the steep drops?

They are on leads most of the time. Better safe than sorry.

Safer around the sheep too.

The most sheep muck I have ever seen on any one hill was Fan y Big.

Good hill though, lovely shelter on top of it and of course the diving board.

Nice pics Claire, that's one of my favourite walks in the central bit of the National Park.

Enjoy every sandwich

There were lots of sheep, think I must have been concentrating too hard on not getting blown over the edge to notice the muck  ;D

It is a good one as you get views in so many directions.
