Hello from Essex
« on: 07:43:54, 13/04/17 »
Hello all,

I have just joined this forum as I have just been gathering equipment together for Hiking/Trekking and Hill walking. I have been camping for some years now and love the outdoors. But have finally decided its time to go backpacking and see more of the beautiful country I live in. I have driven through the peak and lake district on a few occasions and went to the Scottish Highlands for 10 years staying just outside Fort William and visiting Skye three times. Now I have got myself fit and read to get out the car and go on foot.

So I will be looking for advise ways to meet others who want the same and maybe go walk at some time. I am looking at any of the following.

Peak District
Lake District
Hadrian's Wall
Rannoch Moor
Glen Coe
Isle of Skye
Wales
Brecon Beacon
etc

Off camping with family this weekend and hope you have a great Ester weekend too whatever you're up to.

Nick

Sorry only just seen your reply but yes I walk all over essex on a daily basis. Its beautiful in much of Essex.
I Love to walk anywhere to be honest but if I want to walk often then it has to be local.
