I walked from Bowness Knott in the end. It took 2 hours there and slightly less on the return because it was piddling down !

Worth it though, just to sit in Black Sail  O0

Hi April and thanks very much

We had absolutely zero views all the way round the Mosedale Horseshoe...made path finding very very tricky indeed. We were very happy to find the top of Pillar and make it down Black Sail Pass all safe and sound

Ah, that is a shame, the views from Pillar are good. It is tricky navigating up there, especially from Red Pike to Scoat Fell, well done you. You will have to come back again to get the views  :)

Oh I plan on coming back....I'm. Never leaving ! Your definitely right April the route from Red Pike to Pillar via scoat fell really had me taking my time and treading very carefully. It would have been so easy to end up in trouble. I had been on Red Pike before so you would think I would remember what it was like but the cloud changes everything. Sense of direction goes out the window and nothing to take a bearing off. What you think is a straight forward route can throw up so many issues.
