Hey there,

Iím hoping I can get some advice from you lovely people!

Iím looking to take up trail and hill walks etc. but iíve no idea where to start!

Iíd be going it alone and like the thought of driving somewhere for the weekend, camping, and walking the trails....like around Snowden for example.

Whatís the best way to get started in this type of venture?

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

Do you have any experience of hillwalking at all, Ceriwyddien?

If not, then I would recommend joining a group for high level walks; learn from them until you are confident and experienced enough to go it alone. But nothing to stop you venturing out around Staffordshire on your own - map, compass, boots or stout shoes, small rucksack and waterproofs are pretty much all you need for lower level walking; no need to spend a lot of money either.
