Hello from me in County Durham, been walking for a few years but only really got very seriously bitten by the long distance bug in the last year!

Welcome from Manchester  :)

Done plenty of excellent remote walking up there in the North Pennines, especially around the Durham high point of Mickle Fell.

Welcome to the forum from Cumbria, Paul

I don't know the area around Durham, but I imagine that there is some good walking to be had in the NE Pennines.

PS - not all of us are long distance walkers - I'm more of the 'little but often' variety. :)

Welcome to the forum from North Cumbria. I am from Newcastle and used to do a lot of walking around the Middleton in Teesdale area. Nice place to do a bit of walking  :)

Greetings from Lazy Lincolnshire, originally from North Northumberland and hoping to return home soon(ish). My favourites in your part of the world, High Cup Nick., the Forces, and great easy day out in Hamsterley Forest, actually when I start thinking about it, just the whole of County Durham is great walking. Gan canny.
