Rydal Water and Grasmere on a drab winter day
« on: 12:51:22, 30/12/19 »
Not a full TR, but just a few shots from a short walk that I did a few days ago with my daughter, eldest son and dog.

Rydal Water from the west.

Rydal Water with wet dog and happy owner!

Slate Cavern above Rydal - I remember spotting tadpoles in here when I was seven!

Grasmere from the weir at the southern end

All in all about five and a half miles - a pleasant way to spend half a day.

Thanks, Dovegirl - not the best of weather for photography, but atmospheric none the less.

Thanks vghikers, Tracey.

I still find myself drawn to quarries and old mines - although my knees wouldn't stand potholing nowadays.

Thanks Karr - I distinctly remember the tadpoles in the cavern pool - strange how some things stick in the mind after 51 years.
