Good footage beefy  :) I've never enjoyed getting wet and cold as much as I did on Saturday.

Out of interest, did it get reported on the news either press, TV or radio?

I haven't seen it on the BBC local news on TV, it may been on ITV local news?

Now if it's superyachts you want - this one spent some time moored at Gunwharf Key when i was stationed in Gosport.  I used to lust after it from my office in Fort Blockhouse,  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ki1fcXNyUTg  I trust yours measures up or i am not coming to the housewarming.  I have also been to cocktails on this one so yours had better be good https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jhH3214CieQ

Great to see so many there.
Thanks to the 100s who were there representing the 1000s that couldn't make it.

so much important stuff has been missing from the news recently

It is disappointing it wasn't on local tv, there were film cameras there.

Were you one of the swimmers, April?

I'm not a good swimmer. Obviously I would have been in there if I was a better swimmer  ;)

We were soaked to the skin just standing on the shore  :)

glad we all kept laughing.

It was a good laugh, really nice to see you again  :)

Whats been going on? I must have missed summat. Houseboats on Grasmere?

Please try and keep up pleb  ::)

Free champers  :2funny:

Can I have red wine?

Thanks to the 100s who were there representing the 1000s that couldn't make it.

We were representing all the forum members, especially the ones like yourself who love the Lake District.

One of the volunteer marshalls who was standing by the lake thanked us very much for coming. I said to him "you are very welcome" and for some reason that I can't really explain I got very emotional. I think half of it was because he was perhaps in his seventies and must have been frozen. The wind and rain were worse near the lake and he must have been there for an hour at least when we walked by him. He must be a local resident and he really shouldn't have to be marshalling a protest march in awful weather. I suppose none of should be having to do it.

I didn't see it but a friend thought she saw Beefy and Squeaky on BBC northwest news

:) Squeaky had her full waterproof coat on with the legs, her overalls.

We saw one photographer taking shots of her, he musn't have realised she charges 100 per pic   ;)
