Greetings from North Cheshire.
If you follow the A5004 South out of Whaley bridge  after the main crossroads take 1st right down lane to car park you can walk through Shallcross woods along the River Goyt to Fernlee Reservoir.
Or drive further along the A5004 long hill Buxton road past Shady Oak pub left look for a lane on the right drops down to the waterworks and public parking at Fernlee Reservoir with Spectacular views off the Goyt Valley .
There is a 4 Mile walk around Errwood Reservoir .
Also higher up in the Hills , forest walks tracks and trails miles and miles also .
It's Ideal walking country In a beautiful valley .

There are lots of short walks around Whaley bridge village .
To many to mention .
One Famous one near the Train station goes to Toddbrook Reservoir where parts of the Dam collapsed last summer and was in the News as a major Incident .
Advise buy an O/S map of the area .
It will give you lots of Options .
