Cheap Solo - a lockdown video trip report
« on: 22:22:36, 21/04/20 »

An epic film of one man's quest to summit The Monument.
OK, one man and a safety team.
Oh, and the cameramen.
And the sound recordist.

Still reeling from the loss of his friends...
Yes, OK, they turned up a bit later.
...he takes on the challenge that few have ever achieved before.

Crossing swollen rivers...
...tacking dangerous jungle beasts...
...he eventually reaches Base Camp.

And then the real hardship begins.

Fantastic  O0

Is that your garden?

(Sorry I mean base camp)

Is that your cat?

(Sorry I mean wild animal)

Both are fabulous  O0

Yes, it was all filmed in my garden and house.
That wild animal was Mica, one of my rescues.

All well and good and that, but are you ready to try a solo, unsupported ascent of the notorious south face of TTM by the direct route?  Many have tried, few have succeeded.

A few years ago, I spent a few months exploring the ITNG forest. I don't think I'm up for TT mountain.
